Today, we complete the purchase of Dark City: Obsidian City and Hostel bringing us to 6 sims total. Our growth has been slow but attainable. With the annoucement of the liquidation of KJL, I would like to take advantage of the price of the sims and purchase an additional 3-5 sims.
I have gotten the Registration API approval as of yesterday so building the Orientation Island is very close but we just need the island at this point. Another sim would be used as DCS battle arena similar to that seen on CSI:NY. The other 1-3 sims would be added to the Port continent as Port Seleste, Port Winter, and Port (something).
I propose that each sim would cost around $400k and 3 or 5 would suffice either way. I propose a secondary at $1.50 a share to cover the cost of the expansion which will speed up the RPG project from 3 months to possibly 1-2.
We have recently filled 2 of the 4 regular sims to capacity and the other 2 sims are over 50% capacity so we are looking to expand. Funds from the previous secondary were used to purchase and market the two RPG sims.
So now to the actual question....
Should LLRS do a secondary to expand and purchase assets from KJL?
Yes = Yes, do the secondary but the amount gained will determine the amount of sims purchased.
No = No

Kudos to Kejo Merlin Land Group
While I am sad to hear that a company has lost due to VAT and is forced to liquidate, I am glad that KJL's CEO actually ASKED investors what they wanted to do with regard to the liquidation of the company. THIS is what a real CEO does. Even the financial report showed a 2 million linden loss. WOW....huge loss but huge honesty. There are companies currently paying dividends yet they have unpaid debts to others.....far be it for me to name a name but I am sure a hit dog will holler eventually.
It is refreshing to see that a company will actually admit that they took a loss and ask shareholders what they would like to do with the remainder of company assets. Since the halt of KJL on WSE, I am confident that Kejo will handle the shareholders accordingly and he gets an A plus in my book just for the effort alone.
Good luck in the future with the RL company, Kejo and I hope things work out better for you.

More News on RPG Sims
So far the resolution on the Registration API for RPG Sims is looking like a yes even though me and a few other people are getting errors when trying to vote. I have been working behind the scenes on this and was informed of some very interesting news.
Hostel, Dark City: Obsidian City, and Leonetta (Port Druart) are all Dynamic Combat System 2 (DCS2) Sims by Dimentox Travanti. As of yesterday, the DCS2 system holds around 62,000 characters with about 12,000 unique avatars on 147 sims. What does this mean? This means there are more people involved in live action roleplaying than most banks have customers and with that many characters, most RPers frequent several places. Dark City: Obsidian City rents apartments and Hostel will do the same and rent shops as well. This is the next wave of real estate in Second Life. Bringing the game back to the game and applying living to it.
With this in mind, the Orientation Island that we are working on for the RPG sims will house a DCS2 Resource Center that will advertise the RPG sims using that combat system. While there are many other combat systems available, we feel that the DCS system is the most modable for different aspects of roleplaying and the most user friendly for the sim owners to operate.
While the focus has shifted a bit to the RPG side of the house, we have not forgotten the 2 sim additions that are to be added to the Port Continent but we are waiting on land prices to stablize before going into another sim.
I am applying for the Registration API today and will update the market as the project progresses.

Joke of the Day: In the Best Interest of the Investors
So....yeah....this one is for SLRisk....I am sorry but I gotta do it. Realize it is nothing personal at all. I admire the effort but the recent action is deplorable. In the best interest of investors??? Hmmm, were the investors consulted??? Was there a shareholders meeting that I didn't hear about? I am usually in the know on a lot of things but I guess I missed out.
Publicly listed companies kill me with this fable of a line "in the best interest of investors" when they didn't even bother talking to the investors in most cases. If I am wrong here, feel free to correct me. I am woman enough to admit wrong but I think this is a result of Jon Desmoulins giving a strong sell rating and according to the announcement here (https://www.wselive.com/research/announcement_detail/2794) it was.
First of all, I agree with Jon's analysis. I think CEO's are expecting the analysis to be bare numbers and nothing more. BAH! That's just a financial statement. To come to a conclusion on the analysis, you have to give you opinion based on what you see so.....yes, it is partly opinion. Are we not adult enough to realize that? Pardon the smugness of this blog...I am quite pissed about this. Too many times we see things done "in the best interest of the investors" and then we have something like a "Jasper Tizzy" happen or a "Ginko Perpetuating that these are Bonds" happen.
WHAT A JOKE! Stop saying you are doing things "in the name of investors" when all it boils down to is that your ego isn't getting stoked and you want to fly the coop. Show me a log of an investor meeting were you consult investors and I will gladly shut the hell up. This is the reason WSE has the resolution portal. This is the reason I post polls on my blog. This is the reason CEOs start threads to ask questions. If you haven't done this, it was not "in the name of the investors." It was because you got pissy, folded you arms, and said "I don't want to play with Luke anymore. I'm leaving to go play with Intlibber."
Come on, nothing wrong with leaving if you really want to leave but seriously, CEOs are jumping exchanges like frogs on lily pads and it is horrible. How many times did Jasper Tizzy jump? Intlibber Brautigan? Well wait....he got put out of the sandbox but no one let him play in theirs so he bought pretty much stolen technology from a known con artist and opened his exchange with AVIX information still on the pages.....Great....
Let me step off this damn soapbox before I break a heel.....
